The Euromoot project finally has got an official logo! It is composed of the following elements:

  • the eight-pointed red cross with the lily, symbol of the Scouts of Europe
  • the 12 stars of the apocalyptic Virgin, symbolizing Holy Mary, Mother of God, and symbol of the Council of Europe since 1955
  • The Euromoot motto “Parate Viam Domini” – Prepare the way of the Lord
  • The forked stick, symbol of our rovers
  • the fire, symbol of our rangers.

The logo was chosen in the online logo contest organised with the participation of rovers and rangers from all over Europe. The winners are from Varese, Italy.

What is the Euromoot?

The Euromoot is THE 2019 EVENT for the red branches of the International Union of Guides and Scouts of Europe. It gathers close to 5000 rovers, rangers and leaders from around 20 European (and American!) FSE countries in Central Italy.

  • From July 27th to August 2nd, 2019 we have our Summer Roads in different regions of Italy chosen by every Clan or Fire together with their twin partner. The Roads lead us along historical itineraries throughout breath-taking countryside. Together with our brothers and sisters from abroad, we walk in the footsteps of Saint Benedict of Norcia, Saint Catherine of Siena, Saint Paul, Saint Francis… This is road, community, faith & prayer, service… Everything we need to grow as happy women and men!
  • On the last day of the road, we arrive in one of the Final International Camps. Each of these camps gathers close to 1000 participants for a day of rest, exchange, formation, prayer, and scout festival.
  • August 3rd, 2019 – Destination: Eternal City – All roads lead to Rome! With any luck, we will meet the Holy Father, Pope Francis.

The Federal Council 2018 took place in Laski, near Warsaw, on October 5th, 6th and 7th.

On Friday afternoon, a delegation of the Federal Council was welcomed by Undersecretary of State, Mr. Wojciech Kolarski, in the Palace of the President of the Republic of Poland in Warsaw.

The Federal Council meeting itself took place in the Centre for blind children in Laski, managed by Franciscan sisters since the beginning of the 20th Century.  On Friday evening, the meeting started with a holy mass and an adoration in the Centre’s chapel. The participants were impressed by the chapel’s entirely wooden interior that not only breathed Franciscan simplicity, but also reminded of a true scout life in tents and nature.

On Saturday morning, the Federal Council unanimously welcomed the Belarus association as a full member association of the UIGSE-FSE.

The outgoing Federal Bureau gave a report over the work of the last years. Martin Hafner (Federal Commissioner) Nicoletta Orzes (Federal Chairman) and Tomas Szydło (Federal Vice Chairman) expressed their gratitude for their service and the good cooperation with the Federal Council during their 6 years mandate. They got standing ovations by the Federal Council, grateful for the work and support received during the last years.

On Sunday, a new Federal Bureau was elected.

On Sunday and Monday, a delegation of the Federal Council went to a short pilgrimage to Czestochowa, where the participants renewed the Consecration of the Union to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

On September 15th and 16th, the Federal Team, working together since 2012, had a wonderful “Thank you weekend” in Natoye, Belgium, welcomed in the place of Deputy Federal Commissioner Renaud Lannoy’s family.

The Federal Bureau, deputies and assistants of the Federal Commissioner started their weekend with a thanksgiving pilgrimage to the Marian Sanctuary Beauraing, a hike in true scout style including a meal cooked on fire.

The weekend was dedicated to moments of sharing memories, conviviality and a review of the work done together and the road travelled together during the last years. The team offered a photo book to Martin Hafner, Federal Commissioner, as a gift and memory for his service to the Union during many years.

Dear Federal team, the whole Union is grateful for work and your tireless commitment to our European fraternity!
