L’abbé Edmond Barbotin nous a quittés le vendredi 19 septembre. Agé de presque 94 ans, il était paralysé depuis 10 ans et vivait dans une maison médicalisée à Strasbourg. Ses obsèques auront lieu le mercredi 24 en l’église Saint-Maurice de Strasbourg à 10 h 30 et son inhumation au cimetière de Lorette à Saint-Servan (35) le vendredi 26 à 16 h 30.
Il a été conseiller religieux national de l’association française de 1986 à 2000. Inlassablement, il a accompagné de très nombreuses routes, des camps-écoles, les pèlerinages de Paray et de Vézelay, les JMJ de Czestochowa en 1991, d’innombrables activités nationales et internationales… Combien de chefs, cheftaines, routiers, guides aînées, prêtres, religieux et religieuses… ont été marqués par lui ? C’est impossible à dénombrer. Il a également écrit pour notre mouvement de nombreux articles et ouvrages sur la pédagogie de la foi.
Nous conserverons dans notre cœur l’image d’un saint prêtre, discret, disponible, mesuré, à l’intelligence remarquable, à l’humour très fin.
Nous le confions désormais à la Miséricorde Divine, qu’il a tant prêchée et déversée dans le sacrement de pénitence.

Be then, O Heart of goodness, our justification before God the Father, let us savour the soft power of Your infinite mercy. O Heart of love, we put all our trust in You, and we hope for all things from Your goodness.
Burning heart of tenderness, remove from us all that may displease or resist You. Let Your pure love imprint itself so deeply upon our hearts, that we may never be able to forget You or be separated from You. We bless You for accepting to live within our Union and may our happiness and glory be to live and die while being all yours.
