This Bike Hike camp weekend to the Elora Gorge Park located some 85 km west of Toronto Ontario offered us a wide range of wilderness and small town experiences that help to transform a simple “bike hike” into an extraordinary experience…

Coming up is a great historical play „to these green meadows”, which will be taking place on June 15th in an amphitheater in one of Warsaw’s districts as part of the celebration of the end of the year.

The preparations started two months ago and almost 200 actors are needed. A total of 57 girls and 140 boys from the green and red branches have already volunteered to participate!

The mobilization is very big and the commitment of some is also very strong.

The play covers many important moments in Polish history. Starting with the origin of Poland, the Grunwald battle and the topic of Polish Nobility times and the Polish revival.

The biggest task is to achieve the proper musical frame. The goal is to compose an orchestra made up of our musical scout talents.

The idea is to hold such plays each year for the celebration of the end of the year and to prepare a play about The Saint of the World on the next World Youth Day in 2016, probably in Cracow, in Poland…

The organizers want to create a movie and to take photos.

Avec un chef hongrois dans la maîtrise, les scouts de la IIIème Montagne Chambéry ont eu envie de découvrir ce pays. Ils ont également décidé de partager cette expérience en se jumelant avec une troupe étrangère. La  IXème Varsovie ayant répondu rapidement à l’appel, chaque patrouille française est en contact par mail avec une patrouille polonaise afin de faire connaissance, de préparer le camp ainsi qu’un petit lexique français-polonais pour changer de l’anglais. Tous se retrouveront en Hongrie cet été.

Krzysztof, le chef de la IXème Varsovie nous raconte que ses scouts sont très motivés car ils avaient tant entendu parler de la dimension européenne qu’ils souhaitaient la vivre. Lorsque la lettre du chef français leur est parvenue, la Hongrie n’étant pas trop éloignée de la Pologne et n’occasionnant pas des frais trop élevées, ils ont dit : “Pourquoi pas !” Qu’attendent-ils de ce camp ? Vivre une belle Aventure, passer de bons moments avec les Français en Hongrie, et apprendre de toutes ces cultures. C’est ainsi une bonne manière de préparer l’Eurojam !

De son côté, face au défi que représentait le financement de ce camp, la IIIème Montagne Chambéry a trouvé une recette innovante, avantageuse et fort appréciée pour alterner avec les habituelles ventes de gâteaux. Ne manquant pas d’idées, de motivation et d’esprit scout, la troupe a concocté une représentation où se succèdent des chants exécutés par toute la troupe et des chants animés par chaque patrouille tour à tour en mettant en pratique une technique de veillée (marionnettes, ombres chinoises, chorégraphie, …). La haute patrouille a partagé les tâches : prévoir le déroulé, assurer les répétitions des différentes patrouilles, faire des affiches et communiquer largement. La première représentation fut un succès et a attiré entre autres un public non scout amateur.
